The United Arab Emirates has announced the allocation of $ 2.5 millions us dollars for the Nadia Murad Foundation, which will develop integrated projects in the field of drinking water, sanitation and hygiene in the Shangal region.
The project aims to improve water supply, sanitation and hygiene for 61,437 Yazidi residents in the Shangal region, and will be implemented by the Dutch organization Dorcas.
For her part, Nadia Murad expressed deep gratitude to the UAE for its generous contribution to this program.
Murad also thanked His Highness Sheikh Mohammed, crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme commander of the UAE armed forces, for his efforts to support minorities.
